When I started this project together with Herr, I never thought we would come this far. And in most peoples eyes, "this far" is not far at all. We are not famous, we don't tour the world, not even Norway, we don't have millions downloading our music or many K's following us on Instagram. We are nobody's.
But nobody's with a purpose.
This music project was never ment to be about the people: just the music. We have a story to tell, and joy and love that we want to share through our music. The music has helped us through tough times, and in the music we feel our sorrow, sadness, love and passion. As little as we want to expose ourselves, a minimum of social media have been found necessary. So we have a f.b account and an Instagram account, but we try to hold focus on the music and images that can enhance the music. This blog has been a selftorture equipment and hopefully something good will come of it😏
It is not a human right to make and release music. I think that a lot of the music beeing made today, and yesterday,,..should never been released to the world. Not because it is not good, no, because it is not made with passion, devotion and with a wish to make someone feel something. When art is beeing made only to make money, my opinion is that it seace to be art. By all means, all artists need money as all humans do, but when the heart lies in the music, I think it is possible to tell. When there's a nerve, an atmosphere or a mood in the music that sometimes corresponds with yourself, it is magic. And I think true makers of art is on a constant search for this, with variable success of course. So do I think Herr&Fru are true makers of art? Three years ago I wouldn't dream of saying yes! Three years ago I had never played one of my songs for other people than Herr. Three years ago I was scared and didn't think my music was good enough. Today, I am still scared, but much stronger. Herr&Fru Ensemble has reached many of our goals, and more will be reached this year. We have good people who wants to play with us, we have listeners who come to our concerts, we are getting better each day and the joy is still present!
One should never underestimate the power of a good workingarea. With a tablet in front of me with different pictures of my two big loves of my life, some drawings, pictures of places I would like to visit and some inspirational quotes I work much better than before. This last month we've been trying to arrange some of Herr&Fru's music to a choir. It has been quite challenging, and we still don't know if it will work. But working in this way, for me that have never been very interested in chords and rules when making music, it is sort of calming when notes are set in system. Composing and arranging is two completely different ways of working with music, but strangely enough, I think I like them both..
